Emily Dickinson
Thank you Erin Rowe for getting me addicted to yet another thing… I have officially started compiling my 101 in 1001 list. 101 things I want to do in 1001 days. Part of my list (like erin’s) is to blog about each item I complete. So I’m looking forward to writing 101 interesting posts about all of the exciting/new/interesting/ (some of them are none of these) things that I will be doing in the next 2.75 years. Wicked cool.
I would like to make these sometime in the near future. If I post it here maybe I wont forget. They are heart shaped peppermint patties.. adorable. The title of this post is the link to the recipe.. if that is of interest to anyone.

In other news, this past week has left me wondering if I am in the middle of some massive crazy cosmic alignment.. I feel like I have been in the middle of about 75000 weird and crazy and mind blowing (did I mention crazy) things that are happening all around me. Twilight Zone status. Have you ever had that feeling? Like you just look around and think “what the hell is going on?”.. welcome to my past week. What are the chances that Monday will bring me some type of normalcy… probably slim to none but here’s to hoping. Goodnight!
I don’t hate all rainy days.. but there are some things they are good for and some things they are not so good for.
for example
things rainy days are good for
things rainy days are not good for
so basically I belive that a much more effective rainy day system would involve mother nature consulting with me before planning one. thoughts?
Welllllllllll, like the title says - it’s that time of year.. the weeks after spring break up until finals are arguably the busiest weeks of the year. For me, between classes, assignments, on campus jobs, off campus jobs, Gamma Phi Beta things, OSIL things, family things and just life in general, I have absolutely no free time from now until May. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and most of the events are super fun and exciting, and of course the improving weather helps.. It’s just crazy to be so busy and to have almost every second of your day scheduled.
Ex. My weekend..
Friday: social media meeting in the a.m. with ED! He is the social media guru and had some awesome advice and tips about fb, twitter and BLOGGING. yay.
Gamma Phi Beta Crush Party.. went off without a hitch, no surprise. My girls are the best, classy and fabulous always :) I am so proud to be a Gamma Phi
Saturday: my Grandmothers 85th Birthday Party. Imagine being 85? She is amazing. It was so great to be with the fam and see her so happy.. not to mention it was gorgeous out.
Then Winter Melt Down at night… the event was fun but the highlight of the night was breaking down the ice skating rink.. at midnight.. with SWAT and matt miller.. all of us completely delirious and carrying 80lb pieces of synthetic ice down the Kelly gym stairs… really interesting
Sunday: still a zombie from Friday and Saturday. This weekend was the first time my family was all together since my papa passed away more then a year ago. We drove to the Hull in the morning, went down to the beach and spread my papas ashes like he wanted. It was semi-depressing but the day was beautiful and I know my papa was happy that we were all together.. love and miss you :)
After another day with the fam it was time to drive back to bwater, do laundry, clean, get things in order for the week, write some emails and then pass out..
Now it’s monday and it starts all over again. And each week only gets busier.. I will keep you posted on my mental state from here on out.. basically it’s a downward slope until May 12th. Here we go :)

Well it’s beautiful out, its saint patricks day, I have a 40 minute presentation tomorrow morning but I can’t NOT celebrate tonight?! I was on top of my stuff all week so that I could justify going out tonight.. so I refuse to feel guilty about it. How I feel tomorrow morning during my presentation is another story entirely.. HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY PEOPLE!!

Keep Calm and Carry On
I am facinated by this poster, I have been since I first saw it like a year ago. Here’s why..
a. From a design perspective it is gorgeous and beautifully simple.
b. The history of this poster is so cool.. or I’m a nerd. whatever. It was a propaganda poster created by the British Government at the start of WWII. It was the 3rd in a series of motivational posters and was only meant to be used in the case of a Nazi invasion. Well that invasion never happened, hence this poster never got distributed. It was rediscovered in 2000 hidden in a book, the original artist is unknown. So this is what the British government thought would be the appropriate response to bombs flying over head… keep calm and carry on people, we have this under control. I love it.
c. I did however find true meaning in the statement that this poster makes. “Keep Calm and Carry On”. When you think about it, that’s all you can really ever do. There are so many people in life who are so over dramatic, bad things always happen to them, nothing is ever right, nothing is ever good enough… blah blah blah. Get used to it people, bad things happen all the time. Life is never perfect, but there are perfect moments that you will never enjoy if you are too busy being negative. If you could choose to see the glass half full then why WOULDN’T you? So I agree, Keep Calm and Carry On.. Tomorrow is a new day.. This too shall pass.. Cliche I know. Call me crazy but as a half full kind of person I believe in all that stuff :)
Say Hey - Michael Franti & Spearhead
so fun, right? :)
